BLACK CURTAIN

The curtain of darkness, of sorrow falls,
And the eternal flame of daylight dims;
Bitterness shadows the nightingale's call,
As the goddess of night sky glows in grim.

The raging wind howls, in pain and in grief,
An eerie song of despair, of defeat;
Roses mourn, over their withering leaves,
To happiness, to hope, farewell they bid.

Black Curtain was written for my first ever attempt in entering a poetry contest in the year 2006.
It won me second place in school.
Black Curtain describes the gloomy environment when night falls.
It also portrays hopelessness and grief.
